We have been lucky enough to work with clients and their homes that have wanted to incorporate a sleek and contemporary grey worktop in their spaces.
Whether you are looking for a modern look or a more, classic, understated elegance, Sharpstone will help you find the one. In this blog, we look at why choose grey worktops, how to style them in your home and a few examples from our very own projects.
Why Choose Grey Worktops?
- They’re versatile – As we know grey is a neutral colour and pairs well with virtually any colour scheme. Whether you have opted for a bold kitchen design, or one with soft, muted tones, grey worktops can seamlessly integrate into the design. The overall aesthetic has been enhanced without overwhelming the space.
- Timeless quality – Grey is timeless and ensures your kitchen will look stylish for many years to come. They are a smart investment and are unlikely to go out of style.
- Lots of shades to choose from – Grey worktops come in a wide range of shades that vary from light, to almost white, to deep, charcoal ones. Having a variety to choose from allows you to complement the rest of your kitchen’s elements.
- Many materials – Grey worktops can be chosen from a wide range of materials, including quartz, granite, quartzite, marble and porcelain.
- Practical elements – Grey worktops are aesthetically pleasing and also very practical.

Styling Grey Worktops in the Kitchen
- Minimalist look – Pair dark grey worktops with white or black cabinetry to achieve a minimalist kitchen. This particular contrast creates a clean, sophisticated look that is both modern and functional.
- Warm and welcoming – Combine light grey worktops with wooden cabinets and soft lighting to create a warm, inviting space. The grey tones balance the warmth of the wood, resulting in a cosy yet contemporary space.
- Industrial style – Select grey worktops with a matte finish and pair them with exposed brickwork and stainless steel appliances to enhance the industrial look. A fresh, urban kitchen will be created with functionality.
- Classic elegance – Grey marble worktops offer a luxurious feel with their natural veining and smooth finish. Pair it with a classic shaker-style kitchen and add brass fixtures to add elegance and timeless appeal.
