Sometimes the best ideas come from working around a challenge.
Our client originally had their heart set on a kitchen island. Once we looked at the space together, though, it was clear there simply wasn’t enough room for one without the kitchen feeling cramped.
Rather than settle for less, we worked with our client to find another way. The answer was a bespoke dining table, made from the same Carrara Misterio quartz as the worktops.
The dining table became the main focus of the kitchen. It gives our client a generous surface for eating, entertaining and everyday family life, without taking over the room the way an island would have. They get the sociable gathering point they wanted, with space to move around freely.
Because it’s finished in the same quartz as the rest of the kitchen, the table doesn’t feel like a separate piece of furniture. It ties the whole space together beautifully, so the kitchen and dining area read as one cohesive design.
Carrara Misterio is a classic marble-effect quartz, and its soft, elegant veining pairs perfectly with the sleek lines and reflective finish of a modern high-gloss kitchen. The result feels bright, polished and effortlessly stylish.
The main worktops are just as considered as the table. A full-height splashback runs up the wall, creating a seamless, easy-to-clean backdrop that shows off the veining of the quartz. Drainer grooves cut beside the sink give a neat, practical space for draining dishes, and the windowsill is finished in the same Carrara Misterio for a polished, joined-up look throughout the room.
The result is that our client is over the moon with how it turned out. What started as a compromise became the standout feature of the kitchen, proof that the right design can make any space work harder.
