Best Of The Year 2023

Introduction

You may have seen on our Instagram that we have had our followers voting on their favourite project of the year. We started with our 8 favourites and had you narrow it down to a top 4 to battle it out for the coveted Sharpstone Best of The Year award (that we just made up).

Social media can get a bit serious at times so we decided to make it a little more fun. We’ve had a great response with people voting for their favourite and the results did surprise us!

If you didn’t see the winner, don’t worry. We’re going to recap on Sharpstone’s Best of The Year now!

Best of The Year - Knockouts

The first project to get beaten was this stunning Essex kitchen. Fitted with Calacatta Gold in a 30mm thickness. As with all our projects, we feel this stone gives that perfect finishing touch; a light and airy space thanks to the bright white background.

The second project to go was this awe-inspiring Patagonia. Fitted in a stunning central London apartment, this was designed by interior designer Shane Nicholas Design to be a statement piece and we think we delivered!

The third one to get knocked out was the subtle but beautiful Misterio. This elegant white Quartz with subtle veining gives the illusion of marble but without the price tag and upkeep. This was a beautiful project and definitely deserved to fall in the top 8 of the year.

And the final one to go in the knockout stages was this gorgeous Cristalos. The back-lit inserts behind the bar were actually a really small feature in comparison to the light-up dining room table that we now feel should have been the display picture. But it lost to a very fair opponent when it comes to light-up stones. We’ve seen an increase this year with people opting for back-lit feature pieces: One even appearing in our own showroom.

Best of the Year - Finals

We made it down to the top 4 projects, as chosen by our followers. To pick a winner, we put it to the vote once again. This time it was done slightly different, with people picking their favourite from all 4.

In fourth place was the beautiful Blue Onyx Island. This statement piece is an office favourite and had to be in the running due to the stunning effect at night when it’s all lit up. In the day, it is still a masterpiece but the light up effect is a whole new level.

Third place was Ocean Lagoon Quartz and what a stunning project this one was. A beautiful setting in the Essex countryside with one of the most extraordinary views we have ever seen. The delicate colouring of the quartz matches the cabinetry so perfectly and tied the whole design together.

In at second place was Maxxi Gild. A bit of a surprise competitor for us. We tend to see a trend with the bigger, grander designs getting more interaction but we loved this one! A gorgeous coloured quartz that again tied in perfectly with the design of its surroundings. This central London, Victorian semi was transformed, giving the small space an industrial but luxurious feel.

That leaves one more to go and the winner of our very first Best Of The Year Award…… A big round of applause for one of our celebrity homes….. Jayde! The owner of Jayde Store.

Best of the Year - Our Winner!

Jayde picked a beautiful mix of Calacatta Cliff quartz and natural Marble. These elegant stones were a choice that even Jayde herself was unsure of when picked. But it proved to be a gamble that paid off, creating this perfect family kitchen.

This project is a real winner in our eyes and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jayde ad everyone who voted on the stories.

Well, that’s it! The roundup of 2023 and our winner has been chosen. Thank you to everyone that chose Sharpstone to help bring their ideas to life in 2023. We look forward to seeing all of the design ideas you have in 2024 and beyond.
