This time we’re inside Lydia Bright’s Kitchen. Lydia decided to choose Sharpstone to fabricate and fit her new kitchen worktops.

In an exclusive interview with Sharpstone, we take you behind the scenes into the stunning kitchen of the one and only TOWIE star, Lydia Bright. Find out why she chose the particular stone and how she found the Sharpstone experience.

Who or what was your inspiration behind the kitchen design? 

Lydia – The inspiration for the kitchen has just been an accumulation of so many things. So like, Pinterest, Instagram, just being out and about and seeing different people’s interiors. I’ve just collected so many things and I ended up coming up with this. I think a big thing for me when I was designing it was that I wanted to bring brightness, colour, depth. It’s very girly as well because I am very girly and this is an all girls house. So there’s loads of florals in there, vintage elements because I love anything that’s vintage and antiques, it’s a vision of all my favourite things.

Why did you choose to visit Sharpstone?

Lydia – I chose to visit Sharpstone because I have lots of friends that had gone to them previously for their stone for their kitchen worktops and they looked beautiful! I knew that they had a great selection of stone in-house and I’m one of those people that’s very thorough. So if I look online for say, a kettle, I have to look at a 1000 kettles before I choose which one I want. So I wanted to go somewhere that had a massive selection. They’re also local to me in Essex and I ended up finding this Vanilla Ice which is exactly what I wanted.

What attracted you to this specific stone?

Lydia – When I first moved into this house, this kitchen was very dark, there’s no natural light. It was grey and black, so I wanted some nice bright colours but also a surface that had light reflecting properties in it so it could bounce all the light around.

How did you find the experience of it being fitted?

Lydia – With Sharpstone, I picked out my stone and got it fitted with them. I think it was really great to have everything done by one company; it made it seamless. I’m time poor. I’m a busy working Mum so to have a company that just did everything for me made life so much easier.

Do you have any tips for someone choosing their new worktop?

Lydia – I would say my best tips for someone choosing a new kitchen worktop would be think about how you’re going to use it day to day. Choose something that cleans easily. It’s why I was very adamant that I wanted to go with stone. I had a wooden worktop in the past and they are just a nightmare! It gets burnt and sauces and grime can get stuck in the wood grains. So for me, it was very important I had a stone worktop and I would advise any busy, family household, stone is the best way forward.

Is there anything else you’d like to say about Sharpstone?

Lydia – Thank you Sharpstone! I know that sometimes I’m a hard client because I change my mind many a time! I’m so grateful that you persevered with me and look what we created! It is beautiful.
